Where to stock up between Florence and Castellina in Chianti

Where to stock up between Florence and Castellina in Chianti??

We are renting a car in Florence near the train station and driving to a house rental near Castellina in Chianti. Can someone give us suggestions for where to buy some groceries on the way to the house rental? Can be a combination of a daily market but we'll also need some supermarket (or small supermarket) goods as we are 8 people. I'd like to arrive with dinner and breakfast supplies. Google maps tells me it's only about 1 1/4 hours drive so anywhere along the way would work nicely. This will be on a Saturday early afternoon.

Thanks ever so much!

If you take the SR222 from Florence to Castellina, then there is a nice COOP supermarket located in the city of Greve right on the SR222 with plenty of parking. The market sometimes closes during the afternoon but reopens at 4pm.

The Coop (supermarket) in Greve is open 08.00 - 13.00 and then 16.00 - 20.00 hrs Monday to Saturday. The weekly market (think farmers' market style) that is held in the main piazza in Greve starts around 08.30 and is generally finished by 13.00 hrs. It is a nice one with an extremely good selection of fruit, veg, salumi, cheese, etc. The only problem is it's very popular so adds to the parking congestion. Otherwise, once you've stocked up with basics at the Coop, consider the Sunday morning market at Panzano (not a million miles from you!), which is also very popular. You could even stop by the world's most famous butcher (according to the butcher) for there's a lot more happening at Dario's on a Sunday morning than simply selling meat. It's very much a tourist attraction / opportunity for a free glass of wine and a bruschetta.
