Are there any areas in puglia where we could rent that would likely have other Americans in that area.
Must they be Americans, or are you just looking for a place where you're sure to find English speakers?
Not outside the tourist industry - why should it be?
It shouldn’t but in some areas of Italy there is English widely spoken. We’ve never been to this region nor have any of my friends. Just trying to get a lay of the land so to speak.Edited: 15 February 2018, 04:21
Thank you. That helps.
There’s a website called pugliaposse.com which is for expats in the region - some of it is general chat, much of it is advice and info. You might find it useful. Also, im the experience of my parents, who renovated a house in the region without any Italian (they do have now!), many locals are very happy to communicate as best they can - it is, generally, a friendly and welcoming area
Do you know a bit of Spanish? You may find that helps a bit at times. At least Spaniards and Italians manage to communicate ok without knowing the other languageEdited: 16 February 2018, 03:28
