Shops in July

I am looking at a day trip from Florence to Bologna in July. I was wondering how much of Bologna shuts down in the middle of the day. We were keen to take the new italo Ferrari train which has limit services so were wondering if we were there between 10:30 and 4 how much would be open (cafes, shops, restaurants).

Most of shops are open all day long, from 10 to 19,30, just small shops nowadays close in the middle of the day.

Pay attention if you are planning to come on a Thursday bcause most of shops are closed on Thur. afternoon.

Cafes ae opened all day long, reastaurans usually close at 15, but it's easy to find something to eat in any case.
