How many days in Capri? Best location?

How many days should we allow for a relaxing stay in Capri?

We are looking at vacation rentals. Two of the rentals that appeal to us are located in the Marina Grande area near the port or near the Piazzetta. Is there a preferred location that is recommended?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Depends on how much time you have overall. If you have the time one week. If not then at least 2 days if that is the plan.

We spent a week there and didn't run out of things to do, but you might not have that much time--I would say 3 nights at a minimum. Near the Piazetta is a better location (ideally on a side street so it isn't too loud)--the Marina Grande isn't very appealing, as there aren't great restaurants there, it is packed with people getting off the ferries, and you have to take the funicular up and down the hill or take an expensive taxi to get up into Capri Town.

Piazzetta To my way of thinking is the best location. You can walk everywhere on Capri can take a bus up to Anacapri and walk around and see a beautiful locations up there. You can take a bus or walk toThe lighthouse, you can take a bus or walk to Grotta Azzurra. You can take a bus or walk down to Marina piccolo. That location is also very close to the Square where you can sit and have a glass of Vino and watch the world go by. The island of Capri is so much more than the ones street with all the fabulous stores. It’s fun to window shop, nobody ever comes out and grabs you a come in to buy anything. In the evening after the daytrippers leave Capri it’s very quiet and very lovely. I go in October in find that to be the best time of year. I personally would never go in the summer is too hot, way too many tourist, way too many movie stars. Who have entourages of thousands. Well maybe not thousands but a lot of people following them around in addition to all the tourist that are there that spot them. No matter which location you pick you’ll adjust to it.
