Cook & Boat needed for part of 7 Days on Capri w/ 6 fun gals

We have a house for the week; close to The Piazzetta. I have several questions.

- We'd like to hire a cook for 2-3 nights. Need the chef/cook to set the menu, buy the ingredients and cook dinners for us on 8/3 and 8/8 and possibly one more.

- Need a boat for a 1/2 day tour around the island. May or may not do blue grotto; more interested in seeing Capri from the water.

- Interested in what to see and do on Capri for off days. We're going to Sorrento, Positano and Ravello for day trips 3 days.

- What about Amalfi? Worth blowing a day that could be elsewhere?

A guide book will have a ton of information. Try www.capri.net as well. Presume you know a private chef will cost a fortune?

There are heaps of private boat operators at the marina. It will be around 100 euro or more for a four hour tour.

There is enough to do on Capri for a week without leaving but if you wanted to 'blow a day' I would skip Sorrento (nothing really to see) and substitute Naples which has more than enough to do to occupy a month or more.

It is easy to combine Amalfi and Ravello in a one day trip. Both are small.

See Positano , the touristy Emerald Grotto, Ravello and Almafi in one day. Perhaps ferry to Postano. Walk the shops until you hit the taxi stands, make a deal and arrange a ride up to Ravello for lunch with a view. Back down to Amalfi ( for about 30 minutes, lol) . Then ferry from there or Positano. And stay on Capri as much as possible. Sorrento? Maybe go on the 10 am ferry and come back at 2. Sorry but your are already in the best place. I wouldn't bother with a cook, stop at a resurant during the day that catches your eye and talk to them about a great table and leave the cooking to them and not a private cook. Paolino or Gemsoliel or Villa Verde are fun. You must do Deluigi or Fontelina beach club for lunch and sun. Pardon the misspellings.
