Moving to Malaga from the US flying into Madrid

Hi.

My husband, 3 year-old and myself are moving to the beautiful city of Malaga in May! We will be using buddy passes to fly from the US. However they can only get us as far as Madrid. We're wondering what the best travel option is considering we will have several bags. Flying, trains, etc. Responses and experience appreciated!

If you're not intending to stay in Madrid to have a look around your best bet (esp. with a 3yo in tow) is simply to fly on down to Málaga rather than flaff about going into the city to catch a train. The sooner you book a flight the cheaper it will be - do allow yourselves some transfer time in case of delays.

Málaga aiport into Málaga city is easy at that end, 20 minutes by cab.

With many bags, I would fly.

And welcome to Malaga, one of Spain's most beautiful cities. Read the top questions in the Malaga forum. You will love it here. Besides, we have the best weather in Spain.

Sorry to disagree, but the best weather in Spain is in the Canaries.

Malaga is very hot in summer and can be quite cold in the winter. In the canaries it is temperate all year around.

Mmmm

Still a debatable point. Huelva, Cadiz, Almeria, Murcia, Alicante and Valencia also have good climates.

Welcome to the Costa del Vientos, you'll find the summers about the same as you're used to, but the winter months significantly cooler (and windier!).
