Hi,is it easy to get public transport from airport to Puerto Pollensa? Taxis look expensive and shared buses look like a long wait
Thanks so much. This is so useful to know. We normally get local buses if transfer isn't included.
There is no "direct" bus airport to PP. Post #1 gives a good option of changing buses in central Palma.
Another option - new from last year -
The Aerotib bus direct from Airport to Alcudia old town (and other places near there), then take one of the frequent buses from Alcudia old town to PP (Or perhaps - from Alcudia take a taxi instead of a bus on that shorter/cheaper taxi journey direct to your hotel's front door)
Where is your accommodation located in PP ? The resort stretches for about 2.5 miles along the front so you need to plan which bus stop to get off at and whether taxi might be needed for the final section anyway.
Here's the timetable for that newish A32 route Airport to Alcudia area
Another option would be to use a pre-booking company like Hoppa and go shared coach drop-off. The prices are actually very similar to the public buses and although they aren't always the quickest because of other drop-offs, the fact that a) you'd require two public buses to get to PP which will take extra time and b) PP is dropped off because Alcudia so is normally an earlier drop and c) Hoppa will actually drop you at your accommodation (or nearest hotel), could actually see it relatively reasonable transfer vs cheapness.
You also need to consider the time of your return flight. We've looked at using the local buses as a means of getting from the airport to Port de Pollenca and back, only to discover that with a mid-morning return flight we couldn't get back to the airport early enough. Also the fares work out pretty much the same as the cost of coach transfers. We've even discovered that at certain times of year car hire can be just as cheap. I would agree that the airport bus service to Alcudia is a good option if it fits in with your arrival and departure times: our daughter used it to go back to the airport when she joined us for part of our holiday last October.
Thanks, we are just on our way. We will do this.
Alex post #7 - which option did you choose to take ?
It would be helpful to others if you gave feedback on how things went for you..
