An approx. 1 hour drive.

But if there are 2 places which are not really directed towards children 3 and 1 years old these are Baden-Baden and the Europa-Park. To enjoy Europa-Park they are 10 years too young.

There are other parks more directed towards families with younger kids.

With the Playmobil Fun Park and Legoland - both in Bavaria - probably the best ones for small kids.

As abalada said. I do not think this is a good plan for a family with children that young. Few rides at those fun parks are suitable for toddlers.

Baden-Baden is an elegant spa town, the typical visitors are adults beyond middle age. To enjoy Baden-Baden they are about 50-60 years too young.

Little kids will rather enjoy a farm stay, a walk in the forest, playing in the shallow waters of a creek or a lake, running on meadows, playgrounds and children's zoos and swimming pools and stuff like that. For a young family I'd rather recommend renting a holiday apartment in a small town or a village in the countryside.

I recommend the real countryside instead of an artificial park...

Generally speaking Europa Park is mored geared to young teenagers.Nice hotels though, catering to families but mainly to conventioneers. Very few fascilities for little kids. They will have more fun in a local park.
