Help for mid Dec

Am travelling to chamonix with 2 kids (ard 7 year’s old) on 15th Dec and leaving on 16th Dec.

Both the tramway du Mont Blanc and Aiguille du Midi only start operating on 16th Dec. Will it be feasible to do both on the same day? If yes, which should we do first and about what time should we plan to do the other?

Thank you!!

Firstly it all depends on the weather, especially for the AdM, if it is cloudy/snowing don’t bother it is a waste of money.

Montenvers might be OK even in coudy weather but you will need to know the cloud base level, if it is below 1800m again do not waste your money.

If the weather is fine then yes both are possible in one day allow 3 hours each as a minimum.

You do not say at what time you are departing but if it comes to a choice go for the AdM your kids will love it

Thank you! We have not figured out what’s the last bus timing back to Geneva on 16th. Guess we should target to leave after around 7pm. Will that be too late?

And since it’s pretty much determined by the weather, purchase of tick t should be done on the day itself. Or do they allow a refund due to bad weather?

Another question, the tramway is different from montenvers right?

Thank you!

The AdM will close at 1615 so you will be down into Chamonix by then. Not sure about the Montenvers train but would guess the same time as it will be going dark if not dark b then.

So 7pm you would have time for a quick meal or earlier bus.

The Tramway is a different lift from the St Gervais/Le Fayet railway station.

There are no refunds from the Company de Mont Blanc EVER. !! SO check the weather forecast before parting with any money.

What you will find, hopefully, is the whole ski area being open so it could be worth just taking one of the lifts up to a mid-station just for the experience of seeing a ski area in operation.

Thank you very much!

The Montenvers are not opened when we are there on 16th Dec... seem they are only opened from 23rd Dec

onwards.

How can we get from AdM to tramway du Mont Blanc? and any idea what time does the tramway operate and end?

Thank you!

And any suggestions on where to have early breakfast like 7am around AdM area? Trying to save cost and did not have breakfast included in the hotel we are staying in...
