Cold & raining - what to do, any tips?

OK, so it's 12 degrees outside and the sky is caving in. What indoorsy stuff is there to do here? We have a car and are willing to travel up to 1 hour from St Paul de Vence. Needs to be indoors and interesting for 3 disinterested kids aged 4, 12 and 16 :). DVD's and IPads are working so far but won't hold them long. Cool museum, shopping centre, large aquarium all work.

I think the aquarium it is. Fondation Maeght is almost next door but the gardens are a big part of the attraction and that's going to be no fun in the rain.

Everyone else will also be at the acquarium and traffic flow is very badly organised so it really won't be much fun. Unfortunately, I can't think of anything else of interest to children. Forecast is good for the rest of the week!

Sky HAS caved in - luckily under large canopy on Rue Massena - best to take some more wine and just look out.

The thing about Riviera rain is that it all falls at once.

Aquarium was not too bad since we arrived around 5 p.m. 4 year old and 16 year old enjoyed it. Bored 12 year old continued to be bored senseless and couldn't wait to get back to his IPad. if anyone hits the aquarium - the above ground part is only really interesting for the architecture and a look at what museums were like in the 19th century - loads of bleached out sea creatures in formaldehyde jars - pretty creepy and not a sign of Ben Stiller. The fun part is at the -2 level where the live specimens flourish. Great to go in the rain but still if you've seen the aquaria like in Barcelona this is not that amazing. Given the truckloads of cash available to the Monaco royalty this place could do with a little rejuvenation.

It really did rain bucketloads yesterday... wow!

It wasn't all that heavy yesterday -it wasn't hammering down - it was just fairly ordinary heavy rain

Hi,

If you return to Monaco there is a navy museum with boat miniatures. Other than that there is a navy museum in Toulon. In Monaco everything tends to be small. I presumed you had 3 boys.
