Heathrow to Bath via Taxi

My partner and I are considering taking a taxi service from Heathrow to Bath, instead of taking Nationalexpress. We're considering the splurge because we'll be exhausted by the time we get to Heathrow.

In researching on the web, I've located two services, Sky Travel Executives and Majestic Taxi, who offer this service. Any feedback or recommendations regarding these or other similar companies?

Never heard of the above, so cannot comment. Abbey Taxis in Bath offer the service for about 160 Pounds, I think. I often use a little reliable firm in Trowbridge near Bath called Ashton Cabs which charges considerably less. But I am sure others will have more suggestions.

I'd use a car service or taxi from the Bath area as they'll be generally cheaper than a London company plus they'll know where you want to go and not be reliant on GPS.

The alternative of Heathrow to Rading by taxi, train ( regular ) to Bath, and taxi for final leg, might not work out much cheaper than your plan. Not a good idea though to book a taxi from Bath. If your flight is delayed, and after all it is Heathrow, you may well have to pay a substantial excess.

I would seriously consider the National Coach (bus) which leaves from Heathrow terminal 5, and can be as fast as 3 1/2 hours, or up to 4 1/2 hours.

The price is only 24-30 pounds per person.

The bus service to Reading, then train to Bath, is about £30 if bought on the day - go to the National Express office at the terminal for tickets. I took this the other day, took about 2 hours.

Just to concur with everyone else, if you do use taxi, I'd use a Bath taxi service.

I always use Airport Specialist Cars. They are competitively priced, offer a good and reliable service, and have never let me down. www.airportspecialists.co.uk

JeanSL, it is surprising how comfortable the coaches are. I'm not keen on the idea either but it is fast, reliable, very comfortable, quick & cheap. I am actually going from here to Heathrow for £12.75.

Of course if you are up for the extra you can stop off at somewhere on the way in a local taxi.

Checked one of your options and the price looks quite reasonable.

JoeintheUK. Why use a Bath Taxi Service ? If the plane is late, is the guy going to sit around waiting for his fares without charging !!!!
