6 Hours in Oxford

I am visiting Oxford on my way to Woodstock and wanted to know what I should see in my 6 hour visit and where would be nice to go for a light lunch.

Your guidance is appreciated.

With only six hours in Oxford you will have to make your own decision about what you 'should' see.

Light lunch combined with historical setting?

Your question is too vague. Look at Wirewiper's suggestions. Also read a guidebook and take it with you. Oxford has lots to entertain people with plenty of free museums and visits to the University colleges, botanic garden, punting, etc.

The one day itinerary on the oxford city guide is great and the lunch stop looks perfect. Thank you both.

Do be aware that if this "6 hours" is intended to be a diversion while driving from London, at least an hour (and very possibly a lot more) will be spent driving into Oxford, finding somewhere to park and driving out. And that Mondays to Saturdays, from 0830 till 1800.the first Park and Ride you hit on the A40 while driving round Oxford will be full.

Continuing on the A44to Woodstock, parking at the Peartree P&R, then getting the (+/- every 10 min) bus in will be the most efficient and least stressful way of managing your time
