It depends what you consider to be romantic , but the view from Waterloo Bridge is magnificent and it has a poem to go with it.

I did a search for "Romantic London" and found a few sites giving ideas.

Try it yourself.

Here is an article from a UK newspaper from a few days ago

One of the most romantic songs about London is "A nightingale sang in Berkley Square" which was popular during the second world war.

This version is by Nat King Cole (there are other versions on you tube).

Maybe listen to the song, then go and have lunch in Berkley Square.

The more famous poem is Upon Westminster Bridge (http://www.bartleby.com/101/520.html). However, I agree that the view from Waterloo Bridge is the best and most romantic, as it's perfectly located for a view of Westminster to the west and the City of London to the east.

London Zoo is always reckoned to be a good day out for couples.

The London Eye could be good.

A day trip down to the seaside, e.g. Brighton.

Try to take her for dinner or a cocktail at Paramount (http://www.paramount.uk.net).

Kew Gardens is great for walking around holding hands. Lovley plants and flowers, great views, peaceful atmosphere. Take a picnic lunch and the two of you can 'let the world pass you by'.

"A nightingale sang in Berkley Square"

Very nice. I think they'd have to rewrite it now though to read "Two dozen parakeets squawked in Berkely Square".

I think Waterloo Bridge is one of the most romantic places in London, there always seems to be a stiff breeze so you can cuddle up and soak in the thrill of the location. Nowhere near as busy as Westminster Bridge either, and you won't have to fight with Romanian ball and cup men for a space.

Get a private pod on the London Eye. The butler service, champagne and chocolates is unbeatable.
