There is no dress code for the theatre.

I think they just want the people.

You'll find everything from jeans and t-shirts to coat and tie. Wear whatever you're comfortable in.

We saw Mary Poppins last month - you will love it.

Many were very dressed up - many were not. It was a hot summer evening so we were in the middle. I was surprised to see people eating in the theatre during the performance - a woman beside me had brought sandwiches for her children to eat.

Of the three theatrical performances I saw in August, "cool" was the dress code. Theatres were stuffy although air conditioned. Bars were freezing and they served little ice cream treats in the theatre. You could even take your champagne into the theatre after intermission if it was in a plastic flute! The dress was informal, I was formal by NYC standards. It surprised me. Afternoon matinee was totally casual range. Kilts, sequins, and boas were also en mass, so just be yourself and enjoy!
