It's a bit fiddly, but can be done. The Stansted Express - aka the StEX or StanEX - is a dedicated train service that runs from the airport to London. Rather than take it to Liverpool Street station, you could take it to Tottenham Hale, then change there to a Victoria line train on the Underground. Take the Tube to Warren Street, and change there to a Northern line train towards Morden.
There are steps from the escalators to the platforms at Warren Street, but it's easier to change lines there than at Euston, where both branches of the Northern line meet. If you'd rather change at Euston, do make sure you take the Charing Cross branch towards Kennington or Morden, via Waterloo.
The Northern line will take you directly to Waterloo - you'll see signs on the concourse directing you to the Eurostar station.
Simplest for a visitor and perhaps cheapest as well is to get the National Express bus that runs every 30 minutes from Stansted to Stratford, then get the Jubilee Line Underground direct to Waterloo.
Bus takes about an hour to Straford, allow another 30 minutes for Underground and another 30 minutes contingency.
The Stansted Express option has speed as its main asset, will probably take about 30 minutes less overall.
There is also a train every hour from Stansted to Stratford. It takes slightly longer than the coach !!!
