Looking for advice about the Bournemouth air show

Can anyone provide any advice for watching the Bournemouth air show. Other than the GBP120 hospitality tickets, are there any other good spots to watch the show? Does it get really crowded?

Thank you for the link. Was wanting to know the time of the Chinook and now I have it.

I am going on Sunday by boat. The last day has all the historic war planes and there is a great atmosphere but is a much shorter day starting at 12.30 and finishing in the afternoon. Park and Ride is the best option if coming by car or look on www.parkopedia.com . Another option is by coach from Victoria to Bournemouth coach station from £25.50 pp return (2 x singles) www.nationalexpress.com Or train from Waterloo (much more expensive as if there were cheaper tickets they have all gone). You could stay overnight in the South and combine it with something else perhaps?

If anyone's planning to come to this event, please note that there are reports that the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight (Spitfire, Hurricane and Lancaster) have been cancelled, although not on the official air show website itself. Britishairshows.com, the link in the first reply to this post, is suggesting that there's an issue with Merlin engines and that the BBMF events on all four days will now not take place.

Please also note that while to weather forecast is good for the first three days, Sunday's is now for blustery southerly winds, heavy cloud cover, and some intense bursts of rain, which may affect some display events, and make things quite choppy in the bay too (sorry Jane C!)

Sorry, to clarify the BBMF story, The Echo, our local paper, is also confirming that the flight will not take place but that an equivalent display of vintage WW2 aircraft from private sources has been assembled:

Correct no BB memorial flight. Friday is set to be the best weather day but I can't make it then. We shall see about Sunday will check the weather again early that morning: www.metoffice.gov.uk will be the most up-to-date. You might be better off changing your day or doing something else britcannock.
