This hotel is listed as #2 for B&B in Port Isaac. However, on their web page it says the hotel is closed. Anybody have any information?
You're right, it says it is closed for redevelopment, so I guess this is correct. Perhaps nobody has told TA it is closed..
Thanks, any other suggestions?
We thought it was awful - fab view but walked out once we saw the room - OK some years ago now. Major improvements needed to drag it into the 21stC. Stayed at Port Gaverne for one night- it was Ok . Blue hayes at St Ives absolutely wonderful - but not cheap
Still closed, but the car park is useful with access to coastal path for a safe route to Port Gaverne & Port Isaac, as there is limited parking in Port Gaverne. Be warned - it is a hilly walk to Port Isaac.
will it ever reopen?/ It looks as if it needs a massive amount spent on it - however position is fantastic
Headlands was still boarded up last weekend and doesn't look like there's any work going on - or even planned - to open it again
A real shame as it has one of the best views in the country
Quick google search reveals it is up for sale asking price £2.5m
Let's hope it's sold and reopened, it's such a waste as the views from the rooms must be fantastic, though I doubt I'd ever be able to stay there if it does become a going concern, reckon the rates will be high!
The price tag of £2.5m must have been from time ago. We stayed there for the night (05/05/2013) in our campervan in the carpark. We managed to gain entry into the building and found it to be in a terrible state inside. Although the windows are in tact behind the boading up, the floors and ceilings are letting time take its toll. The West wing part of the building has been taken over by damp and rott to what can only be described as flood damage. Both floors from bedrooms 5/6 to the bar are completely ruined. The whole hetel looks as though they just up and left with bedding and pillows still left in tact. Such a shame - it could be so much at the right price but that price would be more like £250k
