I don't think either of the wetherspoons in Chester have Sky Sports not sure about the Pied Bull. The Red Lion on Northgate has Sky Sports and offers a kid's menu so should be family friendly. Maybe use the Sky Sports pub finder http://pubfinder.sky.com/ and see what comes up, then check individual websites?

If Sky Sports is your priority then Hickory Smokehouse, down by the river is another option as is the Crowne Plaza. Depends when you are planning to watch the sport. Lunchtime is obviously easier than evening with children

Bear & Billet has Sky Sports and does food and decent ales.

I don't remember ever seeing kids in there though. Might be worth sending them an email to see if they are allowed.

Bear &billet and red lion (nicholsons) both are child friendly with former definitely having sky. I would recommend the mill on the canal as good pub with sky a the combo is limited in chester.

Pied bull does not have sky

The oaklands on hoole rd even has booths with screens in so the family can all watch on their own little screen ( haven't been for a while so you might want to call and check!)

I think Hickory Smokehouse could be your best bet.
