Pemberton grocery store

Our family of eight will be coming to Pemberton from Ontario over New Years for four nights staying at a place with a full kitchen. We will be preparing all our meals. We are wondering whether we should rush around and try to buy all of our groceries in Vancouver or wait until we get settled in Pemberton. So, how well stocked is the local grocery store for basic and “fancier” groceries? The same question holds for the wine selection at the local liquor stores.

Rather than shopping in Vancouver, I would stop in Squamish. Or even Whistler. There is an IGA in Whistler, and it is very well stocked. Squamish has a Save on Foods store, and it may be cheaper than the IGA in Whistler. But you will want to ask for a "customer points card", if you go the Save on Foods. You don't get the sale prices without the card. Some stores, you can just ask to use the "manager's" card.

Maybe stop in Squamish on the way up, but you'll be able to pick up what you need in Pemberton. Pemberton is basically the commuter town for Whistler employees so it should have most things.

True, but as an FYI parking nearby is extremely difficult to find. The lot is simply jam-packed.

You might want to consider "Whistler Your Independent Grocer" which is just off Hwy 99 on your way to Pemberton, just north of Whistler Village: http://tinyurl.com/y8or4drw
