Ski areas from Montreal

Question

Can anyone offer some advice. We are thinking about skiing in New Year 2008 and have had a look at Bromont. Our flights would be planned to Montreal so we are looking for ski resorts within 2 hours travelling to stay for 6 days skiing. My children are 13 & 9 but are advanced/intermediate skiers. We have been looking at Le St Martin at Bromont to stay too so does anyone have any experience of staying there and skiing there.

We live in Scotland and don't mind the longer flights but like to stay away from Package ski holidays and find the less well known ski areas as they tend to be quieter and more fun.

Can anyone help please?

I would highly recommend Jay Peak (located on the US/Canadian border) and about 85 miles from Montreal (http://www.jaypeakresort.com). The staff, service, food and skiing are phenomenal. My husband and I fly out to Jay at least twice a year (even though the flights cost twice as much and we could get to other places much quicker). Enjoy your travels!
