The two Marriotts are very similar in terms of room size, kitchen facilities, and so forth.

The Grand Residences is closer to the grocery store.

The Marriott Timber Lodge usually has washer dryer in your room if renting a one bedroom condo. Yeah, its a bit odd that the Grand Residence does not have the same.

Acitivites are the same and good.

Swimming pool area is good.

Both are very nice. There is some subtle differences between units (nothing major but we have noted that when we have stayed multiple times there.)

Staff is good.

Its a good place to stay.

The one thing I would add is that the Timber Lodge is the location of many of the family activities on the resort activity schedule. The Timber Lodge lobby has a children's activity center.

My guess is the placement of washer/driers in Timber Lodge suites also indicates the original design was to make it the more family oriented of the two. But when we stay at Grand Residence we see plenty of families in those suites also.

As mini said it is a good place to stay.

It seems in my room search for our July trip that Timber Lodge offers a "King Bed" with the 1 Bedroom Villa while the Grand Residence only offers a "Queen Bed" with their 1 Bedroom Residence. So we picked Timber just to get the King.
