Railay 'vs' Phi Phi vibe

Hi

Can anyone advise if Railay is much like Ton Sai village on Phi Phi? We're hoping not, as Phi Phi was a little hectic (and young!) for us two years ago. What is the vibe like? Just looking for somewhere more chilled out and low key. Any advice would be most grateful!

Railey is generally much quieter, less restaurants and bars than Phi Phi. The east side is mud flats with some chilled out bars and restaurants, the west side is where the nice beach is - it's pretty low key.

Completely different IMO. We found Phi Phi packed with young people/backpackers and very hectic. Ao Nang area is much more chill.

Just got back from a week visit to Railay west beach, beautiful place, pure relaxation, love the place. Good food, decent prices, great sunset and not overcrowded.

One day we visited Phi Phi and that place is for us history. Overcrowded Maya beach and totally spoiled, don't go there. Further they took us to an overcrowded ferry terminal, definitely not a place you would like to remember. Not worth going there.
