Cheers for that
Songtaows are off limit at the airport. You have to walk down to the main road to flag one down. You can also take the airport shuttle bus for 150 Baht/Pax to bring you to Ao Nang. On request they stop at the longtail boat ticket centers and pick up place for Railay. A taxi will cost you 600 Baht/vehicle or 1050 Baht for a private mini bus.
Great help thanks, do they stop at a certain time at night?
It's a while ago, the memory fades - maybe it was choppy seas.
I went to Railey about 3 years ago. Our flight to Krabi airport landed at about 7pm and we took the shuttle bus to Ao Nang via some drop offs in Krabi Town and then Ao Nang. It took about over an hour so it was 8pm and very dark when we got the longtail to Railey (about 10 minutes) but the guy initially wanted 1750 Baht for the journey between 4 of us. Think we paid about 500 in the end. Probably still a rip off but we had to get to Railey as our hotel was booked.
It was choppy and we got soaked but great fun.
