Extra luggage in flight to Whitehorse

Hi everyone,

people in Vancouver forum advised to ask here about carrying extra luggage in flights from Vancouver to Whitehorse. I have booked a flight with WestJet and need an extra luggage piece; in their website there is a price (quite reasonable) for it but no information about procedure how to check-in (with other airlines there is option for prior-to-flight booking). Do we just bring our luggage to check-in and pay for an extra piece there? And what are chances that we don't get it in flight because airplane baggage capacity is reached?

Thanks in advance!

WestJet's 737s are big and can take lots of luggage. Don't worry about check-in. They are new to Whitehorse ans want to impress people with good service. Also, only Air-Canada has little planes and leave luggages behing on a regular basis. You will like the Yukon ;)

Thank you, that was very reassuring! And, as people in Vancouver forum have found out (calling WestJet), the company says the same - extra luggage pieces are not a problem.
