has anyone been to Quebec recently during middle of May? how was the weather?
We were in Quebec City in the middle of May last year, and it was right in between 2 rainy spells and it was beautiful. Not too crowded, easy to get a nice seat at an outdoor cafe. The weather, IMHO, can be a little hit or miss. Again, you could hit some real great days like we did, or some showers and over cast. The more towards the end of May the better.
We were there in the beginning of May and it was COLD and windy.
Welcome to the QUEBEC CITY TRAVEL FORUM.
May in this part of the country can be a real mish-mash of weather... early May and we usuallly ONLY a Week to 10 Days from the last of the snow (be it melt or an actual snowfall). The earth is still frozen... and the cold is coming out of the ground and off the St Lawrence... Quebec City being on a cliff "always" has a breeze... but it can certainly be a chilly one in early May.
You’ll want to bring a windbreaker, umbrella, gloves, hat and scarf if you visit early May.
Mid May and hard to know what we’ll get… probably some rain.
Things don't really heat up until late in the month... and some Touristy things won't be on a Full Schedule until Victoria Day Weekend (3rd Monday in May) which is sort of the official "kick-off" in Canada to the Summer Tourist Season.
Late May and we could have an average Spring… or be like last year and skip Spring totally and move on into Summer (shorts weather).
If May is your choice... then my best advice is come equipped for the weather… want more sunshine than cold… then come after Victoria Day Weekend is my recommendation.
