Driving through/around Montreal, Advice?

I will be travelling to Ontario, to visit family on Thursday. I am leaving from PEI. We plan on leaving PEI around 330-4 am Thursday morning. What is the best way to get through Montreal? Is there much road construction going on?

Well, you can check the interactive map at http://carte.quebec511.gouv.qc.ca/en/ where, by clicking on the options, you can display road construction and traffic conditions.

And the drive from PEI to Montréal is, according to Google Maps, around 13 hours, so assuming you stop on the way for a few short breaks, your timing is awfully close to rush hour, and crossing Montréal during rush hour can add an hour or more to your trip...

Take the highway 40 and you should be fine that early.
