Good evening all. What would be considered to be the top 5 things to do and see . in and around Yellowknife and area.

What is the main draw to coming to the area?

there are quite a few things to do. Yellowknfe is surrounded by isolation, nature, lakes, rocks.

There are tons of lakes and rivers to explore, so if you are a fisherman, canoeist, hiker, then those would be some draws. They also have 24 hours of daylight, which is great for long days activity.

Yellowknife also has a great summer folk festival called Folk on the Rocks. it attracts big name singers, but also sticks close to the native roots, and you might get a chance to hear traditional aboriginal music.

During this time, there is also a golf tournament, which is called the Midnight sun tournament. While I have never golfed there, I hear it's a big sandtrap, and ravens often steal your golf ball. But the tournament attracts people from all over and it's played until the wee hours of the morning.
