We are flying to Winnipeg and then driving to Vancouver. The drop fees are expensive. Any ideas? Are there dealerships looking to drop off cars? Janice
The car delivery business is a pretty demanding one; apparently you have to drive from A to B with very limited stops, and you have to keep the car in pristine condition, not using the back seat at all. And of course a good reliable work history and excellent driving record (supported by documentation) would be necessary before any car dealer trusts you with their valuable inventory item.
That's also why you have to pay such a high drop fee - that Winnipeg car must get back there from Vancouver somehow, and there is an expense for that.
If you arrange to change rental cars in Calgary, that *might* reduce your fees. The Calgary-Vancouver route is a busy one in the warm months, and if you phone around and book well in advance, you can often find a way to avoid the drop fees on that leg.
