Plain of 6 Glaciers or Lake Agnes hike

If we only have time for one Lake Louise hike, is Plain of 6 Glaciers or Lake Agnes better? We will be visiting in July (if that impacts the answer). Thanks!

The Plain of Six Glaciers hike should not be missed - the trial includes spectacular views along Lake Louise shoreline and of the expansive Victoria Glacier moraines as you gain elevation to the teahouse.

The Lake Agnus hike is in the trees most of the distance to Mirror Lake then the views open towards the tea house. Taking the side trail just prior to Lake Agnus to the Little Beehive provides rewarding views as does the trail beyond Lake Agnus to the Big Beehive.

+1 to BLL's advice. The Pof6 trail is scenic along the entire length whereas a lot of the Lake Agnes trail is in the forest, with limited views.

If you are up for a longer day, you can do both hikes in one big loop, but that makes for a 15+ km day and, if you add ascent up and over the Big Beehive before heading down to Lake Agnes, more elevation gain. But it's also possible to do the loop without the Big Beehive.
