We are coming to Vancouver in late April early may and we want to do a family friendly (we have two children 11 and 9 yrs) few days in the snow.. We are not skiers we just want to play in the snow maybe toboggan etc. would you recommend traveling all the way to Lake Louise/Banff of is there somewhere like whistler that is great to just spend a few days playing in the snow.

Hi Alf ~

You may get more replies if you were to post in the Vancouver Forum. This Canada Forum is not much use for questions.

April is getting quite late for snow here. I think the end of season at Whistler is end of April with Blackcomb mountain open another month for glacier skiing for the advanced, elite skiers. Local ski hills in Vancouver may have a bit of snow left. I think the ski hills in the Rockies will have snow until mid May.

It would be very helpful to any destination regulars to add your usual location to your profile. Advice gets better when we can tell what else to advise, such as the eTA.

Hi Alf ~

As an Aussie, you will need an eTA to be able to board the plane to Canada. They are good for 5 years or until your passport expires, whichever comes first, but don't leave applying for it until the last minute.
