We will be in Antigua for one day while on a cruise. What is a must do.
I don't think there are any "must do's." It depends what you are interested in. There is a great circumnavigation tour of the island. We did it last year and most of the people on it with us were from one of the two cruise ships that were docked that day. The speed boat picked us up at Jolly Harbour, then went to St. John's and picked up a bunch of people from the cruise ships. On return, we went to St. John's first as the cruise ship folks had to be back by a certain time while we did not. Another option would be a land tour of the island. There are several to choose from. You could also just take a cab to one of many of the island's great beaches and spend the day there. If you are history buffs, a trip to English Harbour combined with a beach stop might be ideal. If you can give us a better sense of what appeals to you most, we can provide more specific suggestions.
We love adventure tours. We have a place in Florida and do a lot of sailing in the gulf so a boating or snorkeling trip doesn't excite us. Friends are doing the Creole lobster lunch cruise. Snorkeling and a lobster salad lunch for $130 per person.
Has anyone just rented a car and explored the island on their own. I have been looking into tours and $260 for a boat ride and meal on the beach don't interest me.
Have a look here may help you pick something to do for the day
