Secrets vs. Dreams

This will be our first AI trip to this area (previously only to Caribbean and we are looking for a change.) Can anyone help lead us between these two resorts? We are 40 and 54 (no kids), quiet, beach lovers and I'm quite a foodie.

We'd probably be looking at Preferred Club level if people think it makes a big difference. We are traveling over Christmas 2017.

Thanks in advance!

Dreams is much older and has kids. Secrets is about 5 years old and is adults only. The rooms are so good at Secrets you don't need Preferred Club. See both resorts on YouTube.

Also lots of great restaurants off the property. Short ride to town by cab and reasonable rates. Check out the restaurant reviews on TA. I have read many and generally are pretty good indicators. Everyone's tastes are different though.

AV is right. Secrets is a good property. Good restaurants and lovely beach. My daughter and her fiance were there mid Jan and enjoyed it. 4 friends from Regina were here late March for their 4th return stay at Secrets.

Whatever your decision have a wonderful stay here in Paradise.

We have stayed at both, and have decided we will always go back to Secrets. We stayed Secrets first, and then this past March at Dreams. while they both had great food, awesome service, super clean, we liked no babies crying around the pool for hours (and we did have one this year). We also found entertainment lacking at Dreams (same singer 3 nights out of 7) where Secrets had something different every night. Casino, singers, karaoke. I get that Dreams is a family resort, but I felt they lacked for the adults. Secrets has a quiet pool and then the activity pool with the swim up. A couple more restaurants at Secrets than Dreams.

But either way, you will love Huatulco.

I've been to both. Dreams is nice but I think Secrets is better. Ocean views from pretty much every room, Adult only, on it's own little bay. Food close but slight edge to Secrets. The sand can get very hot, need some kind of footwear if beach walking.

We have stayed at both resorts and I would recommend both however we prefer Secrets. Adults only is great, the rooms are nicer, plus we found the food to be much better at Secrets. The spa is a huge must at Secrets and ensure you go for the free hydro therapy session they offer as it is wonderful. You can go to the front desk and ask to go to Dreams one day to check it out as well as eat there but you must arrange your own transportation. The service at Dreams however seemed better and more consistent whereas Secrets was a hit and miss at times.

You really can't go wrong with either choice but if it was me I'd stay at Secrets!

At Secrets their alacartes have outdoor and indoor seating so you don't have to dress up if you don't want to and sit outside.

Hi. It's right next to the Bocana and very close to the Conejos Bay / Secrets.
