Atlantis Men's Dress Code in Restaurants

My dad was planning to only pack leather Clarks sandals to wear to dinner while we are at the Atlantis. He will be wearing dressier shorts and a polo shirt with them.

We will be eating at Bimini Road, Mesa Grill, and Carmines for sure. Maybe Humidor Churrascaria at the GrayCliff Hotel. Will his outfit be ok at these places?

These are the shoes: …zassets.com/images/…6900-560238-d.jpg

If you go on the Atlantis website and look under FAQs, there is a section that explains the dress code for the restaurants. But keep in mind that the restaurants do not enforce these rules. We ate at Cafe Martinque and I made my 17 year old son wear dockers, real shoes (anything other than sneakers are real shoes to him) and button down shirt and a jacket, per their dress code. The man at the next table had jean shorts on and sandles. My son was not happy with me. I think your father's sandals are fine. In this economy, the restaurants will not turn away anyone unless you show up in beach attire.

Thanks, in case anyone else searches for dress code and finds this post I am copy/pasting the information. I think he'll be fine for the places where we are going. Also he specifically wears this style shoe as he has difficulty walking and these are the best shoes for him in terms of not tripping etc, so there is also a medical need.

Casual Restaurants:

Resort Casual

T-shirts or polo shirts, shorts or jeans, skirts or sundresses, and similar apparel are recommended. No swim suits or cutoff shorts. Shoes are required.

Resort Upscale

Dress t-shirts or polo shirts, dress shorts, slacks or jeans, sundresses or skirts and similar apparel. No swim suits, cut-off shorts, logo or silk-screened t-shirts.

Gourmet Restaurants:

Resort Upscale

Dress t-shirts or polo shirts, dress shorts, slacks or jeans, sundresses or skirts and similar apparel. No swim suits, cut-off shorts, logo or silk-screened t-shirts.

Resort Elegant

Dress t-shirts or polo shirts, slacks, sundresses or skirts and similar apparel. No shorts, jeans, tennis shoes, logo or silk-screened t-shirts.

Also I just called about Humidor Churrascaria, and they require long slacks and a jacket for men.

The dress code question always reminds me of the first time my nephew (early 30's) came with us, and I had just finished explaining that "neat casual" also goes for the casino. Well, as we walked though the casino, the first thing we see is a guy in his 50's, wearing a wifebeater and ripped shorts (looked like he hadn't showered in days) playing the slots! Oh, well...Nevermind!!!

Haha thanks for the insight :)

I read this guy, "josephm330's" review here: redweek.com/resort/P4748-harborside-resort-a…

He talks about wearing a tux at the Atlantis... though he spells it "tucks" so I guess I should take it worth a grain of salt.

My dad and husband DO own tuxes, but there is no way I'm asking them to wear them on vacation! I don't even have a dress that would be appropriate with a gown except for my wedding gown and my prom dresses that are about 14 sizes too small :)

Unless a VIP ocassion a tux would really be overkill. My first trip I dressed up every night and felt good as almost everyone did but since then on my 5

trips something major changed and almost everyone seem to embrace resort casual.
