Where should i stay ?

I am thinking of booking a holiday for myself and my partner beginning of June. I really like the look of Nassau and Paradise Island but there are so many mixed hotel reviews that I am now totally undecided on where I should stay !

I like the look of Atlantis, as we do not want a holiday just sitting on the beach, but we do not have kids and I notice that lots of people giving good reviews saying how good it is for kids. What about couples ?

I would appreciate your thoughts and advice !

Hi Nikki,

Me and my husband (no kids) have booked to go to the Atlantis in June and i was a little bit worried by the mixed reviews too!

Anyway we decided on the Atlantis (Beach Tower - cheapest) because it seems that even without kids there is something for everyone (and there'll be plenty of people watching to do :o) also the beaches on Paradise Island look lovely - so if the pools are crowded with children we'll just go there, and there seems to be plenty to do in Nassau itself for young couples. In the end i just thought how could go on holiday to somewhere as beautiful as the bahamas and not enjoy it, wherever we stayed.

Whatever you decide i hope you have a good trip, sorry i couldn't be of more help.

Couples only? Go to Sandals, no kids running around, no screaming, no whining. We have two kids and stayed there to get away by ourselves. It was great. We did a tour at Atlantis and boy oh boy, what a loud resort.

Definitely recommend Sandals for couples only.

If you don't have kids with you, you probably will not like to stay at this place. It is definitely very children friendly (to the extreme actually) and they run all over this place (except in the casinos...they try to get in, especially teenagers, but, it is monitored pretty heavy for underage kids). Kids pretty much take over this entire resort and most are not supervised by their parents or anyone else for that matter. Plenty of people with kids don't mind this behavior but, it can be very chaotic sometimes and sand kicked up on the beach is not very relaxing or the running through the resort right into people. It is worth visiting to see it though...we went to the "digs" which is the aquarium and toured the inside and outside without paying any fee (was told others were charged a fee to go in the "digs" and that the outside was off limits except for guests....we didn't have any problems and didn't even know about that till after we visited both places...walked right in and out of the place without anybody saying anything and walked all around the resort outside w/o any problems too). The casino was ok and open to the public....typical casino if you have been to them before. The Atlantis is very loud, pricey, and disneylike but, there are a lot of people that like that type of resort. Looks exactly like a mall as you walk through the corridors with stores like Versace, Tiffanys, etc.. They do have a theatre that plays movies that are currently on pay per view channels, the theatre is open to the public, not just for guests. Same with the restaurants but, they are overpriced just like their drinks are expensive too.
