Calabash Views/St. John Livin' - June trip

Hi,

My fiance and I are planning a last minute trip June 22 - 29th, and are looking at these 2 villas. Both are offering a last minute deals, but Calabash is still much cheaper.

Anyone have any advice? I have seen reviews on Livin..anyone stayed at Calabash Views? For so much less I think we might just book it. I don't plan on being at our villas much anyways!

St. John Livin' gets my vote. I'd spend a little more and get a better villa.

For starters Livin' has an actual kitchen. It also has a washer and dryer, King bed and a pool.

I personally would look for something a little larger. Both of these places look very cramped to me. For this price you can find a more comfortable place that will give you more space but of the two you have listed, Livin' is way better.

Have you looked on VRBO.com vrbo.com/vacation-rentals/…usvi-st-john Plug in your dates and see what is available for your dates. It's a renters market right now. Under the current economic conditions, I'd also ask for a 10 or 15% discount.

I've seen some villas discounted as much as 25%. We just got back from STJ two weeks ago and we thought the number of people that we usually see just weren't there. Don't be shy. Ask for discounts.

Thanks for the advice. I have asked every person for a discount.

I have looked everywhere and e-mailed a ton of people. I want a place with a nice view, large deck, AC, and decent updates inside.

I don't really want to spend more than $225 a night...

Have you checked Destination St. John? They are having some pretty good specials right now for last-minute bookings.

"You're not looking very hard" - that made me laugh! True- I went back and looked more thoroughly. I just e-mailed about 20 people asking for discounts. I found a great deal here: www.homeaway.com/vacation-rental/p7062598hi

I also found a great deal here: http://www.vrbo.com/19734#rates

Which is better - Rendezvous Bay or Coral Bay? So Coral Bay is on the more secluded, east end of the island...I think we might like that better.

I went through vrbo and found at least a dozen possibles. Unfortunately I just last the whole darn list!!! All I did was plug in your dates and go through the listings.

Coral Bay is the more lay back side of the island for sure.
