O'Soliel is oh so bad....

Dined there last night based on new reviews. My advice is to avoid it. There were only 3 tables occupied. I ordered filet of beef med rare piece of beef came out med well and full of gristle I coudn't even cut it with a steak knife. When they finally brought out another dinner ,after everyone else was done it was so rare it could have walked off the plate. After I made a coment about eating alone they offered to take it off the bill. There are so many better options in Provo so don't waste your money or time here.

Just some clarification about restaurants and resorts.

O'Soleil is a seperate entity from The Somerset resort.

O'Soleil does provide a breakfast for those staying at the resort but the resort 'The Somerset" does not own it.

This is the same setup as many other resorts on Provo.

For instance.....Bay Bistro is a seperate entity from Sibonne resort.

I think this is true of most or not all resorts on Provo.

"I think this is true of most or not all resorts on Provo."

Not just Provo -- most hotels / resorts around the world began to exit the restaurant business 25 years ago. Resort food and beverage $$ is in meetings and conventions, and not stand alone restaurants.

Actually, that was a good thing, because it brought in chef / owners who could offer much more than a typical "hotel restaurant."

Thank you Cheryl for sharing your experience. I also like to hear both good and not so good reviews. I think the tone of some of these replies, along with spelling corrections, was uncalled for.

I say.....if you are going to blast a restaurant.....at least know how to spell it.

O'Soleil a French word meaning of the sun......

And c'est la vie....... if I wish to correct someone's spelling error.(that's life) lol

Why is it that with forums, the slightest disagreement with the majority of posters on that particular subject, is met with this kind of remark? It is why I read, and take with many grains of salt, both the positive and the negative, as well as post very little myself, unless it is a specific question. I have many opinions also, but the steady posters don't seem to want to hear any view except their own. This is not unique to this forum.

It is also why many people discount reviews from these forums entirely.

Now, I know some will just have to come back and keep this going, but I am done. This is my opinion, period.

My opinion is there's both good and bad. The bad posts have just as much rights as do the good posts defending it, so I don't understand why it's wrong to defend?

Doesn't mean the OP is not believable, just means the defenders have had good experiences.

I say keep both. Everyone reading both can make their decisions.

It's great to be passionate in either direction than indifferent.
