Thanks so much!
Depends on the time of year
It also depends on which resort, only the higher end places offer consistent service. OCW while a great mid range resort is more of a self catering place.
Have to say never heard OCW being called "more of a self catering" resort.
Melanie, maybe email Solana, it will depend on the time of year.
I've eaten at Solana! Several times and it always has been excellent.
Enjoy your stay!
Tewks allow me to explain. By self catering I'm saying that beach service is practically nonexistent. You want something you have to go get it yourself. No one there is going to wait on you. At least that's been my experience in my 3 visits there and 1 at OC. Sorry if it offends you but it's certainly not the Gansevoort or Seven stars.
nepats, doesn't offend me at all, not sure why it would. No it isn't SS, nor the Gans. If guaranteed beach/pool service is a must have, then I would suggest maybe staying elsewhere. I mentioned Melanie ask Solana directly. I have had beach and pool service many many times. I do not have any information on beach/pool service at OC.
OCW did provide beach service when we used to go there, have been in both April and December.
Calvin from Solana! was on the beach when we were staying at OCW this past late June into early July. He was very attentive and friendly. Can’t comment on service by the pool since we were always on the beach.
Calvin is a hoot isn't he. Such a hard worker. Normally this would be slow season, but the resort was at a pretty high capacity. Should be lessening in about a week, so who knows if they will still have the beach service. Calving works beach pool and bar. If it is really slow at the beach and pool it isn't fair to him to keep him only on those two areas. I have seen him run down to VDM and Ports of Call beach set up to deliver drinks during the slow times.
Were always there 3rd week in November.....luck of the draw.....one day you may get service....then none for for 2 or 3 days.... then service again....doesn't matter if its the weekend or not....
