We really appreciate the information. Our thoughts and prayers go out to everyone on the island. We are schedule to visit whitby beach. Can anyone tell us if that area flooded? I was worried about the report of a12 foot surge? Thank you so much.

Glenda, Whitby Beach is fine. Irma took some sand away, and Maria brought some back. There was no major flooding like the weather channel loved to report.

With all due respect to the island residents. We are looking forward to visiting the first week of December. Any idea how The Palms resort held up to the storms?

The Palms is schedule to re-open September 30, 2017, according to the announcement from The Hartling Group (owners).

Don't worry about your planned trip in December.
