Looking for a hotel in the Condado area

Hello,

I'm looking for a clean and nice hotel in the Condado area on a budget. I'd like to have a lot of restaurants and shopping within walking distance of the hotel.

Thank you very much!

I did researched hotels for about two weeks. I finally decided to go with the Holiday Inn Express. It is in the Condado area and it is $126.00. It is nothing spectacular. From the reviews the rooms are clean and the staff is friendly. I am staying their June. 5, so will see.

I'm not sure what you would consider low priced but it may be difficult to find a hotel within walking distance to the main street under $100. However, although I do not know the rates, there are some small/privately owned options in Condado such as El Canario Inn, El Canario (By the Sea, By the Lagoon) Wind Chimes, etc.

Unfortunately, I've never stayed at any of them so I'm afraid I couldn't provide any suggestions. These hotels though are not right right across the street from the main street (where the restaurants are) but not far either.

I hope that this helps!

Agree Canarios are very good for the money. Canario by the lagoon has off street parking and only a block from Ashford.

Hello,

Thank you for your inputs! I did read a lot of good things about the small, privately owned hotels like the Coral Princess Inn and the Canary Inn, but I haven't seen them on the travel websites I usually book my packages from (air+hotel) like Expedia, Orbitz, etc... If I choose to go for those, do I need to book them separately on their websites?

I saw the DoubleTree in the Condado area that has good reviews but all they have is 1 Queen or 1 King rooms...I'm looking for a 2 double beds room....Isn't it strange for a hotel to offer only 1-bed bedrooms?....

Hi Lalander16

The double tree is actually a very good choice. It’s a few blocks from the main street of Condado which is Ashford Avenue. There are plenty of stores, restaurants, casinos, near beach on Ashford. So the Double Tree is a good choice. I stayed there a year ago and it was very clean and newly renovated.

Good Luck!

I just called DoubleTree there, and they said they have rooms with a queen size bed and a pull-out "Murphy" bed...I guess thats ok.

(I answered my own question :))
