We Stayed at Blue Waters from June to July, They appahrently had an incident last April, which we where unaware of. But can say that we neber had a problem with security, beach sellers or anything else. You are checked in and out at the main gate and rooms are deadlocked. Beaches are always vunerable wherever you stay!! Security Im sure everywhere now will be stepped up. But in all honesty Cocos security does not look good, wooden slats for windows and doors???? Open air Bathrooms, ok very nice but very insecure. Dont be put off Antigua just be vigilant same as any where else really. Good and bad in any country.

Hi

we agree, that it felt safe around resort (Halcyon Cove) next to Sandals Resort in Dickenson Bay. Felt intimidated outside resort and did not want to explore on our own. We were there when unfortunate murder in Cocoa Beach took place and felt there was an under current of violence on the island. We felt much safer when we continued our holiday in New York. Be 'street wise' when you visit island. In our resort there were many genuine staff that were friendly and helpful but there were also a couple that were not openly hostile but a couple of comments made, made us aware that we were not welcome.
