Beachside Tavernas

Spending 2 weeks in the Kastraki area and was asking if anyone had some good beachside tavernas/restaurants that they would recommend. Have read some reviews about places on Plaka but wondered if anyone has some other recommendations with sea views and good ambience. Have car so no issue with transport.

Mikri Vigla is known territory to me so here we go :

. Mikri Vigla has een beachtaverna on the Partena piece - OK, normal greek food but nothing special

. Mikri Vigla other side (Thalasea beach club) - has excellent salads/pizza's but can be very crowded

. Kastraki/Glyfadi : At the Glyfada beach there is the Glyfada taverna just opposite the surfer's area. Good food, relaxed atmosphere & good view on the beach/sea

Not at the sea but near Kastraki beach is Axiotissa (on the main road from Mikri Vigla to Pirgaki). Excellent food but often very busy - you better pre-book a table here

Further down that road you wil find Apolafsi which has sometimes good food & sometimes not so good food. Quality varies here.

Further towards Pirgaki you will find Kamari taverna. According to friends, a very good address to eat.

Enjoy !
