bandara resort & spa

Has anyone stayed there? Does it have catamarans and windsurfing gear? What quality is the equipment? What are the breakfasts like? What is the weather like in July? Is it cheap to get a taxi to Chaweng beach? Should we stay there instead? Like to eat at nice restaurants but not into nightlife.

We have stayed at Bandara twice in the last two years, once on May 08 and November 09. Both times we absolutely loved it. It is a great resort with plenty of options for swimming and lazing around. We even did the cooking class last time we stayed. We were there for 8 days last November and found that there was plenty of variety in the breakfasts. The staff are very pleasant and helpful. The hotel runs a shuttle to Chaewang a couple of times a day. getting back to the resort is no problem. We chose Bandara even tho it is not in the thick of things for the very reason that it is not in the thick of things! An easy walk to Fishermans village for restaurants and some shopping and money changing. Rooms are large and well appointed. We would highly recommend. In saying that we have not stayed at any other places and I'm sure that there are many good resorts available. It really depends on what you like to do. Sorry but we didn't get to do any of the watersports. Too busy having facials, massages and pampering. Blessed if we know where the 8 days went!
