Help needed - Should i buy Tokyo Wide Pass?

Hi

I will be travelling from Shinjuku to Fujikawaguchiko in Nov this year.

But I was wondering should i buy the Tokyo Wide Pass @ 10,000 yen

Based on HyperDia:-

Total:¥ 4,110 (Ticket Fare : ¥ 2,460 Seat Fee:¥ 1,650)

- 1130 SHINJUKU(JR) [ Departure track No.9 ] LTD. EXP KAIJI 105

Arrive at OTSUKI

- Fujikyu Railway Ltd. Exp. 7

- 1342 Arrive at KAWAGUCHIKO

Return Leg:

Total:¥ 4,690(TicketFare:¥ 2,460 Seat Fee:¥ 2,230)

-1300 KAWAGUCHIKO to Otsuki

- 1504 Otsuki (LTD. EXP KAIJI 112) to Shinjuku

I have select Reserve Seat for Shinjuku to Otsuki but not Otsuki to Kawaguchiko

Total cost is 8800 Yen.

1) Is it worth to buy the Tokyo Wide Pass?

2) Price for Otsuki to Kawaguchiko (1320 Yen) => We have to pay separate as this is private rail?

Please help to advice :)

Thank you.

Tokyo Wide Pass costs JPY 10000. Unless you are going to other places like Karuizawa or Nikko or Kusatsu, I think that is buying individual ticket is cheaper, and you calculated youself. lol

It is covered by Tokyo Wide Pass, unless you are riding Fuji Tozan Densha or the observation car on Fujisan Express, in which you need to pay extra.

As you are travelling in November, keep an eye on https://www.jreast.co.jp/e/fuji/#category03 to see if a similar pass is released this year.

A cheaper alternative would be to travel by bus.

Just for Kawaguchiko, the pass won't even pay off. If you're taking another day trip such as to Nikko, then the pass is totally worth it. Consider taking the bus between Shinjuku and Kawaguchiko. It only costs 1,750yen one way:

Hi Matt and Shibuyakko

Thanks for the advice.

seems like travelling by bus is a good option too.

Will explore more. :)
