how to reach Auberge de poteaupre to try the chimay beer

Hi,

This saturday, we want to travel to chimay to try the fantastic beer.

I am having difficulty of finding a public transport to there (since we want to try the beer, we cannot drive a car!) it seems that there is no bus running on saturday

If there is a bike rental nearby, do you know any?

Thanks in advance for your suggestions

Cheers

P.S. I already found out how to get from brussels, to charleroi, or couvin, I have difficulty figuring out the trip from there! :)

Sorry, but I don't understand why you have to go there to try the beer. You can get Chimay in lots of pubs in Belgium.

Or are you going for the draft beer ?

Thanks for reply,

Yes draft beer, and mainly to see the place they make Chimay (even from outside)

I think I Figured that we can take a taxi from Couvin

The number is 060344103. the problem I had calling him was he just spoke french. I think I can help on making him understand on saturday at least a bit in english :)

You have probably found out for yourself now that the auberge details poteaupre is very touristy and the beer is not made there they do sell a white

beer brewed for them unless you want that of wish to visit the Abby (straight through the Forrest opposite) don't bother just stop at Chimay and try the English (no English beer) pub The Queen Mary or any of the many cafes. I am returning in July to watch the classic bike racing if interested

We regularly visit the auberge whilst cycling round the local area, it used to be the only place to try the Doree beer but thats quite common now in the area. I would say that the auberge is worth visiting but it would have to be by bike or taxi.
