Planning a $10,000-$12,000 honeymoon. Need destination help!

So we are getting married on June 23rd and want to go on our honeymoon June 25th - July 9th (2 weeks). We cannot decide where to go. We have been to Mexico, Aruba, Dominican Republic. We want to go either somewhere in the caribbean or Hawaii or Bora Bora. Bora Bora seems like it will be a little too expensive for us because of the price for the flights. Someone told us that St. Lucia is really nice and is lush like Bora Bora. We want to be in a more private setting and in a lush landscape. We really want to stay in a 5 star hotel with the best honeymoon room that a resort can offer, specifically with our own hot tub and/or jacuzzi. We are flying from NY. Any info on great places to stay and if we should go to an all inclusive or not is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

The above price was with Flights, taxes, Resort, Transfers, food, drinks, etc.

El Dorado Maroma Resort by Karisma is an intimate beachfront all-inclusive hotel providing outstanding service in an atmosphere of relaxation and unpretentious luxury. Located just 40 minutes south of the Cancun airport and 10 minutes north of charming Playa del Carmen, the resort sits on one of the world's most beautiful beaches, Maroma Beach. The resort shares space with the Marina Maroma offering deep sea fishing charters and a wide variety of water sports just steps from the hotel. Guests 16 and older will experience gourmet cuisine normally found at much larger hotels as well as special touches like elegantly appointed beachfront suites and personalized butler service plus a welcoming champagne check-in. The hotel was built using traditional local materials and designed with the philosophy of embracing the bounty of the surrounding environment.

Price was around $12,388 Total for 2 with everything included

Recommend Fiji. Very beautiful, lush green vegetation, crystal clear blue water, and amazing snorkeling. Have a look at the webistes for LikuLiku, the only resort in Fiji with over the water bures, Namale, all inclusive, Royal Davui, Tokoriki, Navutu Stars, Qamea, and Matangi, our favorite resort in Fiji.

Just returned from St Lucia. A beautiful island also not comparable to the Indian ocean/pacific Ocean resorts which are dramatic above water bungalows. Snorkeling is not as impressive as at boraBora, Fidjii etc or at the Grenadines/St Vincent where you swim w turtles, sting rays etc.

Look at Jalousie plantation, anse castanet , jade mountain - ladera being no 1 resort on St Lucia. All in a stunning setting with private plunge pools. There are Sandals Resorts which I personally would not recommend since they are huge with lots of activities/all-inclusive. Guess depends what you are looking for...

IMHO this is a once in a lifetime trip. We are also in NY and I would recommend you stay away from Mexico and the Carribean. You will be able to easily go to these locales from NY for future trips. We did Hawaii many years ago on our honeymoon and have recently visited the South Pacific 3 times in the past 18 months.

The South Pacific is simply spectacular. I would suggest you consider a couple of options. A cruise on the Paul Gauguin out of Tahiti is a little pricey but it includes air from LAX and all drinks are included. It is a 5 star small ship with a great itemerary. When you look at prices the deck 3 and 4 cabins are the same size as the balcony cabins and are a great deal. You could combine this with 5 nights or so in an overwater bungalow at the Hilton on Moorea which has world class snorkeling. Their garden rooms have private plunge pools.

Fiji is relatively affordable and an E&Cin recommend Matangi Island is out of this world. A spectacular small adult only resort on a private island with only 14 or so guests. Consider combining this with a stay at a resort on one of the Yasawa Islands off the coast of Nadi where the international airport is.
