Honeymoon November 2022 £3500 budget, which location?

Hello All,

We are booking our honeymoon for around the 8th-10th of November this year and are stuck on where to go! Searching within our £3500 budget returns lots of 5 star hotels in different places, I have ruled out DR, but still have hotels in: Hurghada - Egypt

Cancun/Riviera Maya - Mexico

Negril - Jamaica

Sal - Cape Verde

If I could get any opinions on the above that would be really appreciated as we have never been to any of the above locations.

It's not entirely clear what you are asking. If you want comments on the specific hotels, you can go to the destination forum for each location, click on the "Hotels" drop-down menu and read reviews by travelers who have stayed there.

Or perhaps you are asking about Cancun, Negril and Cape Verde as destinations in general?

I've been to Cancun a couple times. It's a barrier island, very built up with high-rise hotels. White sand, turquoise waters, palm trees. The terrain is flat. It's quite lovely. Activities include water sports, deep sea fishing, snorkeling and diving, shopping, golf and you can arrange a variety of excursions to see jungle, wildlife and archeological ruins. Riviera Maya is an extensive area that runs along the coast and includes places like Playa del Carmen. One caveat: there have been some recent disturbing incidents of violent crime between drug gangs with tourists becoming collateral damage. So you would want to think twice about leaving the grounds of your all-inclusive lodgings.

I've also been to Jamaica a couple times, though not in years and not to Negril, specifically. Jamaica is a mountainous island, very lush and green. I was a bit turned off by the many locals trying to sell us weed but perhaps that's changed or you would not find it offensive. I did not think the cuisine was a s good as in Mexico but perhaps things have changed.

I have not spent any time on Cape Verde so cannot comment on it.

Just FYI, none of your links work, but lm able to decipher that theyre all holiday packages from either TUI or Thomas Cook …

That said, the very best way to get information about those Hotels here on the Tripadvisor website is to Read The Reviews that other TA members have already written about them, and view the accompanying photos …

Id Suggest reading through a good number of reviews in order to get a balanced perspective of what to expect…

The easiest way to find them is to use google..

Type into google search “ xyz hotel” Tripadvisor reviews, and youll see the link to click on for each hotel name you enter

Another thing l do, and recommend doing, is to look at YouTube for videos of the Hotels youre looking into

In my experience most Hotels worldwide have had videos uploaded by visitors, and are quite a good way to “ see” what the place looks like and get a feel for the grounds/area

A combination of reading the Tripadvisor Reviews, and viewing Youtube videos should help give you information

Then if still needing help deciding, you could try asking about the Mexico hotel on the relevant Tripadvisor Forum for where the Hotel is located

The same idea to ask on the Cape Verde Forum for the Hotel in Cape Verde …

Same for Negril, Jamaica, and Hurghada Egypt
