Please quantify "doesn't cost the earth" in a world currency like U.S. dollars, Euro or GBP.
How many days is this trip and how far from Scotland are you willing to travel?
What do you consider a "lovely treat"? a beach vacay, a luxurious country inn, a city with lots of fine dining and shopping. or what?

If you wanna go on a romantic holiday with your wife. Consider the Maldives, it's like heaven on earth.
