Rock in Rio Las Vegas 2015 solo traveller!!

Hi

I'm going to Rock in Rio Vegas 2015, and would like some help and advice on the best hotel for a solo traveller, preferably near city of rock MGM resort festival grounds.

Thanks in advance

Hi,

Most hotels on the strip are great for solo travellers (and even hotels off the Strip are fine also, but you might need a car). It depends of your taste and your budget.

Vegas is a solo friendly destination in my opinion, as there are a lot of things to do (bars, clubs, shows, ect...)

I've been to Vegas as a solo traveller several times, and I agree that the strip hotels will be fine. All are much of a muchness when it comes to solo travellers!

If you like walking, find someplace off the strip.

the blocks in vegas are way longer than "normal"

Hi! I'm also going to Rock in Rio alone. Are you going to the pop or rock weekend?

I think any big hotel on the Strip is convenient for solo travellers (but some other hotels such as the Hard Rock Hotel or the Rumor Hotel are fine too, even if they are not on the strip, with a car it's not a problem). Vegas is a great solo destination in my opinion.

There are tons of things to do, swimming pools, bars, clubs, and of course visit some others stunning hotels. There are also some interesting museums such as the Mob museum (one is located downtown and the Mob Experience is at the Tropicana hotel)

None of the major casino-resort-hotels in Las Vegas specifically market to the single traveler market, except maybe LVH (the old Las Vegas Hilton) or which is basically a convention hotel. (I would put the non-gaming Renaissance on the other side of the convention center in the same category.) The Excalibur specifically attracts young families, but there are solo travelers there, mostly because the room rates are the most affordable on the south strip. The Venetian/Palazzo and Bellagio are geared toward an older, upscale clientele, but, again, the Venetian has Tao nightclub which, basically, became the model for the restaurant/nightclub that every casino-hotel has to attract the 21-39 year old party crowd.

If you are not going to have a car, just get a place as close to the festival grounds as you can get without busting your budget. The "City of Rock" festival grounds are at the north end of the Las Vegas Strip. The closest hotels are the Stratosphere (acceptable), the SLS (new) and the Circus Circus (lots of young families). The LVH is not too far. Generally, though get as close as you can afford. If you've never been to Las Vegas, distances are deceptively long (because of the lack of humidity in the air, you can see very clearly for longer distances than you are used to, so you will way under-estimate how far of a walk someplace is).
