LS1507 STN-LPA diverted via Brest. Why?

Todays flight (23/01/18) Stansted to Las Palmas turned back 2/3s the way across Bay of Biscay and diverted to Brest. After short stop, it took off and completed its journey.

Why the divert? Unruly or ill pax? Too short a stop for a Techie.

Intrigued. Any one know why?

I cant find anything either but it took off just a few mins off its scheduled time c14.30, got within 100 miles of Spain and made quite a swift turn north to Brest, about 25 mins back up the road.

Very curious. Only on the ground for a hour or so, then departed as EXS150D, a cover-all flight code.

Flightaware shows the flight track.

How interesting !!

According to Flightradar24 - Dep STN @ 10:36 arr BES 12:36 // gap of 2hr20ish at BES // took off 14:52 arr LPA 17:11 all times will be local.

Jet2's site just declares it's arrived (it is also on it's way back) and it arrived LPA less than 3hrs late. So, from all that I'm guessing it's one of many we'll here little or nothing more about, perhaps a medical emergency, perhaps behaviour, or minor tech like blocked toilets . . . . . etc

Correction to my original - T/o - it was c10.30 - finger trouble.lol

What is ODD is that Asturias (OVD) was just a few minutes flying time south directly on its route but the Crew chose to turn round and go all the way back to Brest.

If it was a disruptive pax, you'd think they'd want him off the plane sharpish and same with a sick Pax and as for a Tech fault, I'd want the wheels on ANY runway ASAP.

As I say - Curious.

If it is a rowdy passenger I'm sure we'll here about it. Jet2 make a point in publicising any incidents on board and rightly take quick action in banning anyone if necessary.

I wouldn't call that too odd -- they were 7 miles up doing 500 mph ;-)

OPO, LIS or MAD may have had less of an impact on duration, granted, and may look a more obvious choice, but whatever the reason - they had one.

I tried searching again, many hours later and still haven't heard anything. Surely it wouldn't be fuel related? And as pointed out earlier, Jet2 like making examples of rowdy passengers... Usually there is a hint of something in the news...? In any case, I'm glad they got to their destination safely.

To Quakered, that was brilliant! I tip my hat to you, sir.
