My Daughter’s baby shower was on October 1, 2022. Everything went perfectly. Kate was wonderful to work with and always answered my questions promptly. I loved the guests having a short menu to choose from and the food was delicious. Sam and others were our servers and they were attentive to our guests needs at all times. I thought the pricing was very reasonable for the service and quality of food. My only anxiety was that I couldn’t figure out what to worry about after I put Kate and Steve and Rocky’s in charge!
This restaurant I have been going to for 27 years since we first moved to Novi. Absolutely great food and comfortable atmosphere. The creamy Swiss onion soup is fabulous. House salad is a very light citrus dressing and excellent. I had the salmon and my husband had the whitefish which is also delicious. Mary Brady the owner comes to check on how the food is and always makes you feel welcome. Thank you for the service you provide to our community. Highly recommend this quant restaurant for a night out or a group event. Mary and team will take great care of you.
On the advice of a friend I decided to try this place again. Glad I did! We started with a couple of craft cocktails, which were amazing. The mixed board was a nice assortment of meats and cheeses and the entrees did not disappoint. The pot roast fell apart with just your fork, the fish was prepared perfectly, and the brussels were some of the best I've had. I saved the best for last, our server, Suzy! Perfect combination of knowledge and humor. She was so friendly and attentive with all her other tables as well. Do yourself a favor and ask to be in her section when you dine.
We went follow ya recommendation from a friend and we’re pleasantly surprised. The menu is not just Chinese: some Korean dishes can be found as well. Because that, be mindful of the spicy level of each dish. We loved the Hunan Eggplants and the traditional fried rice, which we ordered with the “combination “ protein option (ie., shrimp, chicken and meat). The Lobster Pad Thai had an interesting flavor: a bit too sting for us. We didn’t realize it had tofu which we do not care for. Menu has a lot os diversity: plenty of opportunities to find something you like. Dessert options limited but expected. The chocolate lava cake with vanity ice cream, although not Chinese, was good. Service was excellent. The bar tender person has a “radio commentator “ type of voice with perfect English. Another pleasant surprise. Prices are more expensive than most Chinese restaurants. I’d argue food is worth it.
We ordered delivery and it was just as good. I hope the chef and staff are doing well - I still remember their faces and personalities. Best of luck to them during COVID, I cannot wait for things to return to normal, dine in, and see everyone doing well again. Take care and wish you the very best!!!!
For $35.90 I got a "Family Bundle" that included 7 pieces of delicious Lily's chicken, a big container of mashed potatoes, a family sized house salad, 2 loaves of bread and 6 scrumptious cookies. I also received a good size container of dressing for the salad and sauce for the chicken. The family bundles are not available for eat-in or delivery, but mine was well worth the drive to pick it up
Very good experience, however this is not a restaurant for fine dining or you visit with vegetarians. The smell entering the restaurant is not inviting. This is caused by all the small local cooking at customers table. The floor was very slippery for same reason. If you neither like fish or meat this isn’t your restaurant of choice. Going beyond these two issues ist a nice alternative to a steakhouse. The meat/fish gets cooked at your table and thus very fresh and tender. Our waiter Daniel was very attentive.
Love love love Buddy’s pizza. The crust is crispy, the deep dish crust is chewy and not heavy. Ingredients are fresh. Greek salads are large, with plenty of feta and ‘real’ Greek olives...not canned black olives. Enjoy supporting this place. We no longer live near a Buddy’s, so when we are in town visiting, we pick up one to eat and two to go back with us! The pizza re-heats great, and they also sell partially cooked/frozen pizzas with instructions for completing the cooking process at home.
We had a reunion of 16 cousins, some from out of town, and Big Tommy's Parthenon could not have made us more welcome. Not only did they create a spacious seating area for us, but their wait staff was so gracious (and great fun) and their menu had an incredibly wide selection, so everyone could get something they wanted. Food was terrific and a good time was had by all. Thanks, Big Tommy!
I'd been wanting to try this place for many years and finally got a chance to do so. It was worth the wait. I was having trouble deciding on what to get until our waitress, Luby, pointed out one of the specials. They were offering Boston creme pancakes and I decided to give them a shot. They were the best pancakes I've ever had. There were so many delicious dishes on the menu I hope to go back again and try them in the future. The restaurant is very clean with a very busy atmosphere and the chocolate sprinkled covered pretzels was the perfect ending to a wonderful experience. We'll be back.
A great find for an out of town couple looking for quick sushi and grocery items after a long drive. This Japanese grocery store has a good selection while not being large and overwhelming. Sashimi grade fish was fresh and delicious.
First time here. Beautiful venue, evening ambiance, great service (thank you Ricky) and food. This place is such a surprise. The hostess gave us a printout of the history of the home, haunted ghosts and all! If you appreciate architecture the building alone is worth at least one meal. We ordered five delicious small plates and appetizers amazingly for under $50. With a full page of appetizers, a full page of small plates, we didn’t even get to the two pages of enticing entrées! Can’t wait to come back and try the grouper. Also a sushi menu, specialty drink menu and wine list. Something here for everyone.
I used to like a roasted chicken dish that came with a delicious lemon sauce, but they sadly removed it from the menu. So, I tried the filet mignon. What a disappointment! For $34, I should at least GET a filet. The cut of meat was definitely not a filet. The food took so long to come from the kitchen that the manager apologized. It was a busy lunch Saturday, but not ridiculously so. The mashed potatoes were good, as was the bread. My husband got a shrimp scampi, which wasn't prepared the way any shrimp scampi we've ever seen. The shrimp were battered and fried before being placed on the angel hair pasta plate. While his food tasted OK, the whole meal was grossly overpriced for what it was. The cheesecake here is amazing, but I wouldn't bother eating a meal here again.
Thank you very much for a wonderful 92nd birthday party for my Dad! Everything was perfect! Family and friends all enjoyed their meal, and Julia's service was exceptional! Two tables of 10 were set up when we arrived, but four people could not attend. Julia and other staff moved tables to make one for 16 people. Service was attentive, professional and courteous from beginning to end! Julia also offered to take a group photo; helped with our cake and brought cookies; brought extra gravy to wrap up a leftover turkey meal; and pre-bussed throughout our meal. Many guests (including Dad) commented on her excellent service! Myself and several other guests have worked in fine dining restaurants over the years, so we were even more appreciative of the job she did- especially in today's hospitality environment. I rarely write letters/reviews, but felt compelled to show my appreciation for Julia's service and the food the kitchen produced to make my Dad's birthday a lovely success! Best Regards, Tom OCallaghan
Was looking for a place to celebrate our 36th anniversary on line and happened upon Table5. What a great little gem we found. From booking reservation right up to cashing out was a fantastic experience!! The owner greeted us warmly and led us to our table (and mentioned that she remembered I had dietary issues and would let the server know) Our server Liz took over and also noted my restrictions . She was very thoughtful of our needs. The food was absolutely fabulous from the appetizers, the bread (which every table around us raved about) and our main courses were some of the best food we have eaten in years. My wife loved her decedent dessert also. If I could give 11 stars I would. We even heard the tables around us raving about everything they ordered. Nice atmosphere and a great dining experience (slow paced and not rushed is what fine dining should be) Highly recommend Table5
The food was very nice as was our service. The restaurant is obviously very popular, in a location and building that suggests that the bulk of its business is “locals.” Restaurant is small, but not intimate. A bit overcrowded and noisy, although we lucked out and got a corner table. It’s one of only a few nice restaurants open on Sunday in the immediate area. Would definitely recommend you try it out!
During the pandemic in 2021, there weren’t many restaurants as were going to but we felt comfortable with J Alexander’s standards and as always, hospitality is great. We celebrated Mother’s Day a few days earlier to avoid the crowd during lunch and we celebrated Father’s Day early on a Saturday when it was really busy. What I like about J Alexander is the they are consistent with quality of food and service whether I’m with family or solo. Time of day or day of the week never seems to effect them, which is why we come to this location often.
We went here with a small group on a Friday evening. We made sure to make reservations, and were seated as soon as we arrived...although the front staff seemed to be confused about where to seat us, even though there were several tables available. After telling him "that one works fine", and sitting at a table, that was set. There is ample seating inside, and a decent amount of outdoor seating (covered) if the weather cooperates. The decor was "open air" inside. The beer was overall good. I got a sampler, and enjoyed all but one of them. The rest of our party did enjoy the individual brews they received. The food was decent; there were primarily sandwiches, with some pizzas/flatbreads and salads available. Our table all had sandwiches, and we each enjoyed them. Overall, this was a solid meal with decent beer, and I'd return.
Cute little diner with typical diner food. The waitress/hostess was very friendly and quick with service! I had the eggs benedict and they were out of hollandaise sauce so I asked for cheddar cheese on top and it was good! My husband had the Grand Diner special with bacon. We both had to bring half of our breakfast home!
For one of the smaller chains it's pretty cheap and tastes solid. I paid like $9 for a pizza that had like 8 toppings on it and it was about the size of a medium. If you're on a budget at one of the hotels it's a good pick.
Big shout out to manager Liz Taylor who is such an asset to this location! Tonight my parents came in for dinner to celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary and Liz made it so special with a delicious chocolate cake. Since I live out of state I wanted to do something special and Liz came through! Thank you SO much for your kindness and willing to go the extra mile. We are grateful and it doesn’t go unnoticed! Carabba’s is always a treat but I will make sure to visit again when I am in town. Thanks again! -Aimee P.
Famous Dave's Bar-B-Que did a great job serving our family following a funeral and burial at nearby Oakland Hills Memorial Garden. The location was perfect and the the staff was very helpful in preparations and execution of the meal. Thank you, Edgar, Ricky and Chris for helping us. You made a difficult day nicer.
Ok the ambiance leaves a lot to be desired but great food with great service. So they get what’s important right. Excellent cocktails and wine at extremely reasonable prices. Service was very good and Jenifer was attentive but let us set the pace. We started with mussels in spicy marinara and calamari tiramisu. The muscles were delicious and there were a ton of them! I think the regular calamari menu option would’ve been a better option as for another five dollars to get the tiramisu version you get a few pieces of sliced Italian sausage. Wasn’t it worth it, but the calamari itself was very good. For entrees we had the Veal Michelangelo (w side pasta), seafood fettuccine, and Gamberi rigatoni. All were pretty good but the veal and seafood fettuccine stood out as excellent. Doubt that their pasta is homemade (at least the rigatoni) but their sauces are very good. We look forward to coming back!
Having lived 30 years in Korea, I know what good Korean cooking is. Bi Bim Bap make very good Daeku Jiri (clear broth cod soup). Jiri is the clear broth version of Tang(spicy version), and it should start from a fresh fish because there is no spice to mask the taste of lesser quality fish. The Jiri is as good as one I had in good specialized seafood restaurants in Seoul. My wife was indulged in Jaeng ban Kuksu (spicy cold noodle salad). The sauce is just right. Neither too spicy nor sweet. The doneness of the noodle is perfect. It rivals one from renowned restaurants in Seoul. We have visited the restaurant two times in 7 month period. The quality of the food was consistent in the two visits. I like the quality control.
Awesome modern casual design. Was a car repair garage at it’s birth many years ago! Fun booths made of multiple pairs of jeans, pockets and all! Cool patches embroidered with different names as you would see on a mechanic’s uniform. We sat near patches Haley and Lauren.LOL Menu is not large and contains many unique house recipes. We were not pleased with the steak tips (a combination of sirloin and fillet ) with zip sauce, mushrooms and pearl onions to include a few pieces of bread: sauce was yummy, tips were so tough some at our table could not chew them. Perhaps more sirloin than fillet?:( The Mushrooms and onions within the zip sauce is tasty. Chili shrimp appetizer: This dish is pretty amazing. It comes with about 5 yummy charred shishito peppers which look like they are there for plate decoration but oh my don’t pass them up! They are yummy. Evening special-Branzino : Well portioned with two fillets cooked to perfection. Cauliflower Vegetable type of a hash with peanuts lacked flavor. Meditation type veggie salad (cucumber, tomato, onions in a vinaigrette) was delish but both contained some type of spice not enjoyed by some at our table. Burgers , oh the Burgers:House blend beef. Amazing presentation of a generously sesame crusted bun, two good sized delicious beef patties with lots of cheese, fresh shredded lettuce, tomato and a thousand-ish type dressing. Great pickles!! :) Fries crunchy and enjoyable. Short rib tacos: Three tacos on the small/appetizer side.No comment on the cold noodle salad. Beef tasty, however, the house made kimchi was not our fav! See photo as kimchi is stacked generously under minimal short rib. :( Two in our party ordered the Cesar salad: Pleased to see fresh lettuce not bagged, however, they were barely tossed together with one severely lacking. We did receive a side of their very mild creamy Cesar dressing. Dessert, three to choose from: Key lime cheesecake: Homemade, great graham cracker crust, just amazing.:) Good portion of fresh strawberries, raspberries and blueberries. Other choices were bumpy cake and ice cream I believe. Many house cocktails. Only one in our party ordered off this menu: Well made Original Old Fashion appropriately priced, generous pour as noted on their menu!! All and all a good experience. As you can see, dining with us is like attending a family style smorgasbord. We share everything!
Novi Coney Island is a great diner-esque restaurant for breakfast foods. They have a wide variety of eggs, platters, and sweet options. The restaurant also has about 10 specials. Service is great, and the food was similarly good.
We knew that the Detroit area had the highest concentration of Middle-Eastern ex-pats anywhere in the US. So logically, we knew this would be the place to find good Mediterranean food. Even still, the Alexandra Mediterranean Cuisine restaurant in Novi was beyond expectations. The spice was wonderful. The hummus (or hommous as the purveyors spelled it) was smooth and creamy with what my wife described as just the right lemon. We ordered chicken shawarma, lamb shawarma, a falafel plate and, of course, extra hummus. All of it was very good. The shawarma came in a homemade pita in which it was baked, a new style for us. Crispy and delicious. The falafel was large and crispy on the outside and soft and tender inside. Just fantastic. We can’t say enough good about Alexandria except that we hope to come back. Oh, and all of this was less expensive than burgers we had yesterday. Go see the friendly staff and great food.
Dare I say it? Mexico in Michigan! It's true. Real Authentic Mexican food at it's best. Burrito King, is the king! To give you a bit of backstory, I grew up in Michigan (so chain Mexican restaurants were as authentic as it got for me). I moved to Los Angeles for a while and really got to understand that what I was eating in Michigan was nowhere near authentic. Once I moved back to Michigan, I was at a loss of where to find the Authentic Mexican food I'd been craving, that I was so lucky to find in Los Angeles. Well, I found it, Burrito King. The menu is huge from breakfast to dinner, from Tortas to Tacos to Burritos, they have it all. I, being a vegetarian, even have several options to tickle my tastebuds. The staff is kind and friendly, big smiling faces greeting you the second you walk in the door. Plus when eating in, 3 different salsas to accompany your chips (my favorite is the green one). They have Horchata's to wet your whistle, even the classic, Mexican Coke in a bottle if that's what your craving. I now visit Burrito King at least 3 times a month and on each visit, I am never disappointed with the service or quality of food. It's definitely, my new favorite Mexican restaurant, even taking the lead over several Mexican restaurants in Los Angeles. It's honest to goodness, Real Authentic Mexican Food! 2 Thumbs Up! (I'd give it more, if I had more thumbs).
We took carryout from there, even after telling them many times to ensure it is vegetarian, they put meat sauce on the enchiladas. so that wasted. The food itself was not tasty, we used to visit them a lot a few years back, but it has gone downhill.. oh well...
My husband and I walked right in on a Saturday night at 6pm which should have been our first clue to run. Surprisingly, the bottles of beer were reasonably priced at $3 for an Atwater Dirty Blonde. The sushi menu was extremely limited. We asked our sever what was in one of the rolls (which he didn’t know but said he’d find out) and he didn’t tell us it contained ingredients we didn’t like. The quality of the sushi was subpar. I asked for water more than once and didn’t get any. $65 later, we both left hungry. Next time we’ll go to the nearby chain Italian restaurant where we know we’ll leave full and with leftovers for the same cost.
